One of Jeri’s earliest memories is standing on a pew singing the chorus of the hymn Blessed Assurance by heart. “This is my STORY, this is my song, praising my savior, all the day long.”
Jeri grew up actively involved with a church family, reaching out to the community through JOY bus ministries, bible studies, and Young Life in high school. She attended Abilene Christian University and volunteered to teach in children’s ministries for over 20 years, eventually leading workshops to teach others how to teach.
She nurtured the gift of hospitality, inspired by her grandmother, by cooking Thanksgiving for her Canadian friends at 17, as a Freshman in college. Jeri has fed thousands of people in Texas, South Carolina, New York, and California. Creating community through hospitality remains an important priority in Jeri’s life.
Although convinced of God’s love for the world, Jeri has spent years pursuing a heartfelt understanding of God’s love for us individually, without works or performance. Being enough and good enough, striving to love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength, AND accepting His love unconditionally, as unworthy, yet welcomed, chosen, and invited to the table as a daughter of the King.
Jeri is married to Olin, and has 4 adult children from a previous marriage. She has a double BA in French and Oral communication, with a certification to teach French, and a Master of Arts in Teaching.
